The 2014 Le Rêve Blanc de Blancs: Domaine Carneros’ 100% Estate Grown Chardonnay.

ABOUT DOMAIN CARNEROS’ LE RÊVE

Domaine Carneros’ Le Rêve is a highly respected tête de cuvée – representing the winery’s finest sparkling wine and frequently recognized as America’s Best Sparkling. Bearing the French translation for “the dream,” Le Rêve is meticulously crafted from Domaine Carneros’ 100% estate grown Chardonnay grapes, showcasing a pure expression of the winery’s identity.

HARVEST NOTES

The 2014 vintage witnessed a smooth and uneventful growing season, resulting in wines of remarkable quality and energy. There was a wonderful deluge of rain in February, saturating the soils and replenishing the water table as they entered the growing season. Throughout the summer, the vineyards experienced a regular cycle of marine fog dissipating by mid-day. Harvest commenced on August 8th after a moderate July marked by consistent temperatures. The continuing moderate weather in August provided the ideal window to harvest the grapes at their peak ripeness, ultimately yielding wines with beautifully balanced profiles.

THE WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES

In terms of aroma, Domaine Carneros’ classic Le Rêve exudes enchanting notes of honeysuckle, lime blossoms, grilled pineapple, brioche, and a subtle hint of ginger. On the palate, flavors of honeycomb, yuzu, and freshly baked lemon pie unfold. This wine boasts an inherent depth and purity, culminating in a long and elegant finish. Similar to remarkable wines, the 2014 Le Rêve has been meticulously crafted for longevity, promising to evolve gracefully over decades in the cellar. While delightful in the present, those with patience will reap additional flavor benefits with time.

SUGGESTED PAIRINGS

This inspired selection is the perfect accompaniment for the most unforgettable moments.
